]]> I remember so many of the friends I made in my one short year at Coker. I returned to Savannah and attended Armstrong State College. I interned for one year at Candler Hospital through the college and became a Medical Technologist. I was employed there for over 40 years. I worked in the Chemistry Dept. of the laboratory my last 30 years.
I enjoyed my year at Coker but was a little homesick. I love Savannah and will probably never move. I encouraged my children to both go away to college if only for one year. You really grow up.

This summer, while too short, was productive and fun while it lasted. I completed 9 new paintings, received a Puffin Foundation grant to support a collaborative project that will premiere in NYC next spring, and experienced House of Eternal Return at Meow Wolf while vacationing in Santa Fe. This month Inheritance (2015) is on display at the , and selections from Significant Other will be on display at the  in Appleton, WI. I’m excited to debut Birth Throes at  in Marfa during Chinati Weekend this October; this show will be my second solo exhibition with the gallery. I hope to see you this fall in Appleton or Marfa if you’re out and about!

I am Coker Class of 1992 and live in Baltimore, MD.  My roommate from Coker, Mary Lahr Carson Cain, was visiting me on August 5 from North Carolina and we were in Patterson Park.  I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a young man walking in the park with a Coker shirt on!  He is Mike Martiello, Coker Class of 2016, and was visiting from New York to see some Coker friends who also live in Baltimore.  What a treat meeting him was!  Coker is everywhere!
