Clara Ingram Gandy of Columbus, NC, died on June 24, 2020. She was 92 years old.

Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1928, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin C. and Thelma Reynolds Ingram. She grew up in Georgia and South Carolina.

She held the degree of Bachelor of Arts from Coker College and graduate degrees in history from Emory (M.A.) and the University of Tennessee (Ph.D.). Her teaching career of more than twenty years involved active participation in professional organizations in the United States and Europe. In the several locations in which Dr. Gandy lived also included work in many civic, religious, and historical organizations. She retired in 1993 as Professor of European History from Coker College.

In addition to her parents, Dr. Gandy was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L Gandy (2001); sister, Thelma Ingram Richardson (2014). She is survived by two sons, Tom F. Gandy, and Charles I. Gandy (Becky); grandson, Michael L. Beatty; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A private graveside service for the immediate family will be held in Magnolia Cemetery, Hartsville, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ, 300 East College Avenue, Hartsville, SC 29550.

She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Dr. Vernon Youngblood and Pete Partridge, daughter Jane Youngblood, and two sisters and one brother. Lillian was a graduate of Coker College and Duke University. She was a homemaker Lillian is survived by children, F. Marcus “Marc” Youngblood of Raleigh, William “Bill” R. Youngblood and wife Terry of Gainesville, GA, and Elizabeth “Beth” Y. Griffin and husband Tom of Charlotte; grandchildren, Bryan, Elizabeth, Ellie, Katie and Sussie; great grandchild Harrison; and a number of extended family members.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 789, Concord, NC 28026.

Mrs. Stevenson was born on February 19, 1926 in Muskogee, Oklahoma and was the daughter of the late Walter J. Blake and Claire Finnigan Blake. Mrs. Stevenson was a 1947 graduate of Coker College. She was a former teacher at Beaufort Elementary School. Mrs. Stevenson was associated with the Beaufort Literacy Program in their tutoring program and read on the radio for the South Carolina association for the Blind. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church

She was preceded in death by her husband James Carroll Stevenson, her daughter Mary Claire Naulder, her son Carl Frederick (Rick), her grandson Christian McDonald, her granddaughters Siobhan and Emily McDonald, and her great-granddaughter Teagan McDonald

Mrs. Stevenson is survived by a son Michael Blake Stevenson of Beaufort, South Carolina; a daughter Laura Stevenson McDonald of North Pole, Alaska; grandchildren Jessica Sauls, Austin Somerton, Lauren Horry and Devin McDonald; great-grandchildren Gage Rountree, Michael Bashlor, Daniel Boyn, Jackson Horry, Ben Horry, Sophie Somerton, Liam Somerton, and Tristan Gilbert

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:30 Sunday afternoon, April 7, 2019, at Copeland Funeral Service – One Copeland Drive with a prayer service at 3:30 Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Copeland Funeral Service

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 10 o’clock Monday, April 8, 2019, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Burial will be held 1 o’clock Monday afternoon at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Charleston, South Carolina.
