A native of Horry County, daughter of the late William Porcher and Maud Elizabeth Dusenbury Gelzer, she was a retired employee of Pickens County School District and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, James Ansel Black III (Renee) of Havana, Florida and William Daniel Black (Julie) of Greer; a daughter, Melissa Elizabeth 红桃视频淏etsy红桃视频� Black Brady (Tim) of Piedmont; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Daley was born on August 8, 1935, in Lake City, daughter of the late Major Randolph Anderson and Marian Davis Anderson. 聽Mrs. Daley loved her Lord and Savior and was a faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church in Hyman, South Carolina. She had a passion for her church family, and was a member of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class and Women红桃视频檚 Missionary Union. Mrs. Daley was a graduate of Lake City High School and Coker College and was a teacher with Florence School District 2, Pamplico, for many years. Her love for nature was obvious. Beginning her day with morning coffee in the sunroom, she was able to appreciate the change of seasons. She derived contentment from her beautiful plants and flowers as they welcomed visits from God红桃视频檚 feathered creatures; when a cardinal was spotted it brought her extra delight. Mrs. Daley looked forward to Sunday gatherings at her home following church service. Euleen always looked forward to the Christmas season and a time to celebrate its true meaning.聽 She took great delight in bringing out treasured memories and displaying them with love throughout her house. She opened her home to both friends and family extending her true Southern hospitality

Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Victory of Pamplico; sons, Allen (Cheryl) Daley of Lake City and Kirk (Suzanne) Daley of Pamplico; grandchildren, Jessica (Steven) DeBerry, Tiffany Daley, Hanna Grace Daley, Lauren (Trent) Gore, all of Pamplico, Allie Daley of Franklin Springs, GA, Johnathan (Lindsey) Daley of Camden, 聽and Dalton Daley of Coward; great grandchildren, Kathryn DeBerry, Josie DeBerry, Lane Daley and Drake Gore; sister, Marian Anderson Stanley of Roanoke, VA; special friend and caregiver, Jerri Lynn Daley.

Mrs. Daley was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Allen Daley, Jr; brother, George Rush Anderson; son-in-law, Robert Victory; daughter-in-law, Teresa Lee Daley.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Beulah Baptist Church, Pamplico, with burial to follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of her daughter, 863 W. Seven Mile Road, Pamplico, SC 29583.

After graduating valedictorian of the 1951 class of Marion High School, she attended Coker College for two years. She worked for Atkinson Implement Company in Marion for thirty-one years until their closure. Her second career was with the USDA/Farm Service Agency from which she retired.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion where she was a member of the Derrick Sunday School Class, the Morning Study Group, and the UMW. In her earlier years she was also a member of Marion Pilot Club and the Azalea Garden Club, as well as several bridge clubs.

Surviving Betty are a son, Dwayne C (Melanie) White of Florence, and a daughter, Belva (Carol) White of Atlanta, GA; two grandsons, Jesse (Hayley) White of Greer and Lee White of Florence. Also surviving are two stepsons, Jim (Pam) Atkinson of聽, and Don (Jeanie) Atkinson of Nevarre Beach, FL, as well as seven step-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her first Husband, Douglas Carlyle White; second husband, James Hugh Atkinson; her sister, Eunice H Allen and her brother, Leon Waldo Herring, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Richardson Funeral Home. The service will be streamed live on the Richardson Funeral Home () Facebook page for those unable to attend. The family will be receiving friends from 5:30-7:00 PM on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Richarson Funeral Home.

Dorothy Ruth Hayes Branham died January 12, 2024 at The Manor Senior Living Facility in Florence SC. Dot, as she was known by all, was born the youngest of three daughters to the late Lawton Horace Hayes and Ruth Campbell Hayes Skeen in Latta SC, on July 3, 1933.

Dot attended Dillon County public schools and graduated from Latta High School in 1951. She would later teach business classes there for two years after finishing college. She loved and appreciated the gracious lifestyle and gentle pace of her rural southern hometown, and fully immersed herself in church, family, school, and the community. Waving at the troop trains as they passed through town during the war, learning to dance on a best friend’s grandmother’s front porch, cheerleading for her beloved Latta Red Raiders, singing in school performances, and in the Latta Baptist Church choir were just some of the things she loved 红桃视频� and going to the movies (her best friend’s daddy owned the theater in Latta and Dot had a free pass for anytime she wished to go).

After graduation from high school, Dot followed her two older sisters to Coker College, in Hartsville SC, where she graduated in 1955. During her senior year at Coker, she met Lester Branham, a young ministerial student at Wake Forest University. Dot and Lester were married on August 10, 1956 in Latta. Being a Baptist preacher’s family, they moved living in Fork, Chester, Loris, and Orangeburg, before moving to Lake City in 1973 where they lived until now.
Dot was a faithful member of the adult choirs in each church where Lester preached, and was a wonderful soprano soloist. She is lovingly remembered for her yearly rendition of “Sweet Little Jesus Boy” at Christmas services, which many have expressed “made” Christmas for them. Dot also taught children’s Sunday School and Bible school for over 30 years.

Dot loved her family, and her many friends, but she mostly enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren. Dot believed her calling was to provide a loving, Christian home for her husband, children, and grandchildren as Lester was called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

She is survived by a son, Lester P. “Brant” (Beth) Branham, III of Murrells Inlet, SC; a daughter, Maria Branham (Robert) Matthews of Lake City; three granddaughters, Katie M. (Jared) McGee of Lake City, Lawton Branham of Charleston, Liza Branham of Murrells Inlet; a grandson, Matt (Evan) Matthews of聽; two great-grandchildren with another grandson on the way and her beloved nieces and nephews.

Dot was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, her parents, her sisters and brothers-in-law and one nephew.
A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Lake City First Baptist Church, with visitation prior to the service, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, in the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Powe was born in Latta, SC, daughter of Elsie and Marion Atkins. She attended Coker College in Hartsville, SC and, after receiving an Associate’s Degree, married Carl M. Powe, Jr. of Hartsville in 1956.

Mrs. Powe was a homemaker, raising two children and maintaining the household in support of her husband’s career as a U.S. Army officer, moving eighteen times in the first twelve years of marriage. She was extremely active in the military wives’ clubs at each of the Army posts where they were stationed throughout the United States and Okinawa. Upon moving to Huntsville, AL in 1968 Mrs. Powe was extensively involved in numerous volunteer organizations including, but not limited to, the American Red Cross, Girl Scouts, and the Parent Teacher’s Association.

Mrs. Powe was quite active in local and national service clubs such as the Huntsville Women’s Club, Huntsville Hospitality Club, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), United Daughters of the Confederacy, The National Society Colonial Dames XVII, and The National Society Magna Charta Dames. She served in various leadership positions, including President for the local chapters of the national organizations.

Mrs. Powe was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Carl, and survived by her daughter, Dr. Audrey Powe McDade (Mike McClellan) of Huntsville; and her son, Carl M. Powe, III (Carla) of Kiawah Island, SC.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 4th, 6:00 红桃视频� 8:00 p.m. and the funeral will be Friday, May 5th, at 11:00 a.m., both at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, Huntsville, AL. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Frances was born in Timmonsville, SC, the daughter of the late, Evelyn Phillips Huggins and James 红桃视频淛im红桃视频� Albert Huggins, Sr.

A graduate of Coker College, she was a school teacher until her retirement from Wilson Hall in Sumter, SC. In addition to teaching school, she coached basketball, volleyball as well as track and field. In Sumter, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Mary Martha Circle, Sumter Newcomer红桃视频檚 Club, Evening Pilot Club, and the DAR. She enjoyed book club, playing bridge with friends, all sporting events and playing golf. She loved music, singing, playing and teaching piano. She delighted in dining with her Breakfast Buddies at the Guignard Diner and lunches at Mary Ann红桃视频檚 Deli where she was honored with a special chair, engraved with her name on it. Her most treasured times were family gatherings with her children and grandchildren either at their homes or on trips to the beach.

Frances was married to the late Fred E. McLaughlin, Jr.

Predeceased by her parents and husband, she is survived by her brother she calls 红桃视频淏ubba红桃视频�, James Albert Huggins, Jr.(Karen) from Timmonsville. She is also survived by her three daughters Evelyn Beckroge (David) of Blythewood, Robin McRoy (Calvin) of Lugoff , Laura Reasonover of Walterboro; grandchildren, Laurin Beckroge Chewning (Dillon), Ryan McRoy, Lindsay McRoy and Keller Reasonover.

The summer after graduation, she married the love of her life, Thomas W. Hancock, Jr. Tom joined the Marine Corp and moved quite a lot. In fact, in 20 years in the Corps, they lived in 21 houses. They were blessed with three wonderful children Steve, Jim (Polly), and Ann, and four outstanding grandchildren Cassie, Cade, Emma, and Hope. Mrs. Lou enjoyed a long and happy life. She had many special friends with whom she enjoyed spending time. She taught school in Cheraw, South Carolina, when Tom was overseas and again at Camp Lejeune when Tom was stationed there. She was active in the Marine Corps Officer红桃视频檚 Wives Club, organizing trips and tours to the White House and Marine Corps Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

When Tom retired, they bought the Western Auto in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, and settled there. She lived there, in the same house, longer than any other in her life. She and Tom had a special 57-year marriage. He loved sports and coaching and she spent many happy hours watching him play and coach. All three children played sports and she enjoyed following their games and careers. Mrs. Lou loved her church and was an active member of Wesley红桃视频檚 Chapel Church for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who loved her.

A service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 2 pm at Wesley红桃视频檚 Chapel Church, 2409 Peanut Plant Rd, Elizabethtown, NC 28337. Visitation will follow the service in the Multipurpose Building from 3-4 pm.

She was born on December 24, 1932, and very early on Faith learned to love the Lord, to trust Him completely, to accept His will, and to always be thankful. She taught these truths to her children and to others by her words and by the way she lived. From her youngest days in Fairmont, North Carolina, Faith exuded joy in life. She taught herself to twirl a baton with a broomstick and eventually became the head majorette. She was well-loved at Fairmont High School where she became yearbook editor, May Court Queen, and Miss Fairmont High. Her genuine interest in people began in her childhood and continued throughout her life.

At Coker College, she continued to sincerely love friends and enjoy college activities such as Baptist Student Union. She was selected Coker Cutie Queen and May Day maid of honor by the student body. She graduated in May 1955 with a degree in Education which she used to teach 3rd and 4th-grade combination classes for several years.

Faith was married for 66 years to Francis Raymond Allen. It was her pleasure to travel with him as he served in the United States Marine Corps. They spent many years in Northern Virginia. She was so loved by wives of the Marine Corps senior leadership that she was chosen to be the Docent at the Commandant’s Quarters, which hosted Washington DC social events. Faith was also a board member for the Officers’ Wives Club. Three times she endured year-long separations from Ray while he served on Okinawa and in Vietnam and she managed all aspects of her household.

Faith was a servant to people of all ages and from many walks of life. She volunteered weekly at the Community Kitchen. She was a member of the Del Mar Book Club. She taught 3rd and 4th grade Sunday School throughout her adult life and at Ocean View Baptist Church for seventeen years. Until her illness, she was a faithful and active member of her church and Sunday School class. Faith was a prolific writer and excellent communicator who blessed countless people with notes of encouragement and PrayerGrams. Her compassionate heart for the elderly led her to home visits sharing food, flowers, and her warm personality.

She loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She gave unconditional love to every member of her family. Faith was exceedingly thankful for the gift of her devoted husband. She thought he was the most handsome, intelligent man of strong character and integrity. She was thrilled to be with him whether it was picking butter beans, hosting Sunday School parties, entertaining Marine Corps officers and their wives, or assisting with apartment rentals. Faith adored Ray and they were rarely in each other’s presence without holding hands.

As a mother, Faith was selfless, supportive, encouraging, always loving, available, and present. She embraced her sons-in-law, Ray and Lawrence, as her sons. She was a perfect role model for her two daughters. She always delighted in the activities of her family and supported each grandchild by watching them swim, play football, run cross country, cheer, dance, and sing. Whatever was important to them, was important to her.

Faith was predeceased by her parents, Ethel Reaves Fennegan and Samuel Edgar Fennegan, her brother Edgar Fennegan, and her sister Ann Reaves Fennegan. She is survived by her husband, Francis Raymond Allen, her daughters, Allison Allen Grantham (Ray), Reaves Allen Langdale (Lawrence), her brother, Dr. Michael Fennegan (Nancy), her grandchildren, Amy Grantham Sullivan (Ryan), C. Ray Grantham, III (Lauryn), Faith Allison Langdale, Maggie Reaves Langdale, her great-grandchildren Grant and Cate Sullivan and Quinn and Reese Grantham, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cottingham was born July 1, 1931, in Florence, SC, the only child of the late David Cousar DuBose and Possie Burgess DuBose. She grew up in Sardinia, SC, in Clarendon County. Beth graduated from Gable High School Class of 1949 as the first 12th-grade聽class. She was attending Coker College in Hartsville, SC in March of 1950 when she was stricken with Polio and spent a year in Warm Springs, GA, coming home in March of 1951.

She reentered Coker in the Fall of 1951and graduated in 1955. Beth graduated from Union Presbyterian Seminary, Richmond, VA, in May 1957, with a Master of Arts degree in English Bible. In August of 1958, Beth married Walter Cottingham. While Dr. Cottingham attended Veterinary School at the University of Georgia, Mrs. Cottingham worked as secretary to the Counselor of Freshmen men. In 1961-62 when the couple moved home to Kingstree, Beth taught at East Clarendon High School. From 1962 to 1980, she taught History and Bible at Kingstree High School.

She was named Teacher of the Year in 1966. For several of those years, Beth worked as a part-time assistant to Guidance Counselor, Elizabeth Scruggs. A unique feature of Kingstree High School was that she taught a Bible Class in the public schools with no state funds utilized. Local churches contributed to the fund which paid that part of her salary. After retirement, she taught briefly at Williamsburg Technical College. Mrs. Cottingham was an active member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church where she was an ordained Elder, served as a women红桃视频檚 Bible teacher, and served on a variety of committees.

There will be a private family burial with a memorial service to be held at a future date.
