Mrs. Ford is the daughter of the late Mary (Watson) and Charles Ray Bryant. She was a graduate of Coker College and recently attended her 50th reunion and celebrated with her Coker classmates.

Mrs. Ford worked diligently as a social worker first at the Department of Social Services of Marion and Dillon Counties for a number of years. She then worked at Saint Eugene Medical Center from 1990-2004 as a social worker where she also passionately coordinated a group of volunteers known as ƵHelping Hands.Ƶ Mrs. Ford was very intentional about meeting the needs of people around her, both in the workplace and in her community.  The remainder of her social work career was completed at the Department of Social Services of Dillon where she retired in 2010. Mrs. Ford went above and beyond the duties of her job at DSS and often spent much of her personal time and resources helping children have access to things like Christmas gifts, school supplies, clothes and opportunities to attend summer camps.

Mrs. Ford was a member of First Baptist Church in Dillon, SC and she faithfully watched each Sunday Service from home once her mobility limited her ability to attend in person.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her brother Johnny Bryant of Fayetteville, NC as well as her sister-in-law Florinette Renfrow of Lake View, SC, and brother-in-law, Arleigh Nain of Charlotte, NC.

Frances (Frankie) Cauley Earnst, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025 due to complications associated with dementia. She was surrounded by family and friends, just the way it was supposed to be. Frankie was born in Clinton, SC on December 8, 1950, the only daughter of Frank Edd Cauley and Willie Pruitt Cauley. After graduation from Clinton High School in 1969, Frankie attended Coker College in Hartsville, SC, where she met many of her best friends to this day. Upon graduation in 1973 with a degree in Elementary and Special Education, Frankie and her roommate set out to seek their fortunes in . Both found employment at Knightsville Elementary School, where Frankie found her calling. She so enjoyed teaching young children. In March, 1975, she met her future husband at a wedding and became engaged later that year. Doug and Frankie married in December 1976 and she continued to teach until their first son, Brad, was born in November 1979. In April, 1984, they welcomed their second son, Daniel, and Frankie continued to provide the nurture and care that made their home so special. As the boys grew, she became more involved with activities associated with the boy’s school and the family’s church. At Orange Grove Elementary, she served on various committees and as co-president of the PTA, as well as providing many hours of service as a volunteer. At Westminster Presbyterian Church, she served as an ordained deacon, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher and leader, Senior High Advisor, Montreat Youth Advisor and participated in a Mission trip to Coban, Guatemala. When Daniel was starting fifth grade, Frankie was drawn back to her love of teaching. She taught 4-year-old preschool at Westminster Presbyterian for the next 17 years. She loved working with young children so much. It provided her with immeasurable fulfillment as she touched so many lives, both students and parents. It was not unusual for those same students and parents to see her many years later and remark about her positive impact on each of them. Doug was many times referred to as Mr. Frankie, which swelled his heart with pride for her. She was a gifted educator. Frankie will be best remembered for her personality and giving spirit. Everything was better when she was around. She had a sparkle in her eye, a keen sense of humor and an infectious love of life and everything in it. There was nothing that she did not want to do (except maybe yardwork) and the more people she could get to join her, the better. If someone asked, “Do y’all want to ….?”, often, she would answer, “yeah” before the question was completed. She was a great cook, hostess, friend, wife, mother, and grandmother. Frankie dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, her Church, and her friends. What a great support they all were as she journeyed down the dark path of dementia. Frankie is survived by her loving husband, Doug, and sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Shelby of , and Daniel and Keller of Charlotte, NC, and cherished grandchildren: Henry, Manning, Kemp, Anne Cauley, and Judson. She is also survived by her brother, Keith R. Cauley of Harlem, GA. Special thanks and gratitude are extended to the caring staffs at the Village at Summerville (Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina) and Agape Care Hospice. A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, located at 1157 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., Charleston. Susan Bartell Yarborough, 74, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on May 15, 1951, in Hemingway, South Carolina, Susan was the daughter of John H. Bartell Sr. and Eleida Altman Bartell. She was a devoted Christian and longtime member of Marion Presbyterian Church, where she faithfully served as an Elder.

Susan pursued her passion for teaching at Coker College and dedicated 40 years to education in Marion School District I. Teaching was her true calling, and she cherished the opportunity to nurture and inspire her students. Beyond the classroom, she was a proud Swamp Fox fan and a loyal supporter of the athletic programs. For many seasons, she could be found running the scoreboard at Marion High School basketball games, cheering her Swamp Foxes every step of the way!

After retirement, Susan continued to pour her heart into the community and friendships. She was an active member of the Marion Azalea Club, the Book Review Club, and the Bridge Club, fondly known as the “Bridgettes” Ƶ who may or may not actually play Bridge. She loved the outdoors, whether tending her yard, bird watching, or enjoying a quick game of monkey in the middle with her family. Time at the beach was among her greatest joys, often with a good book in hand and Jimmy Buffett playing in the background.

Above all, Susan treasured her role as a mother and grandmother, cherishing time spent with her family and proudly following their many activities.

Susan leaves behind a legacy of love that will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Stanley Dean Yarborough Jr. (Donna) of Easley, SC, and Jon Francis Yarborough (Stephanie) of Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren, Hampton Yarborough, Libby Claire Yarborough, Calhoun Yarborough, Russell Yarborough, Harrison Yarborough, and Henry Yarborough; her brother, John H. Bartell Jr (Angela) of Lake City, SC; her nephew, John H. Bartell III; along with many cousins and dear friends.
The family is deeply grateful to McLeod Health Hospice Care, Wayfinder In Home Care, and to very special friends – Esther, Genoveva, Jeanette, Kiki, Lisa, Mary, Queenie, and Shanna – for the kindness, dignity, and care they provided to Susan, as well as the comfort they brought to the entire family.

A graveside service will be held at Indiantown Presbyterian Church (4865 Hemingway Highway, Hemingway, SC 29554) on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

The family will receive friends from 2:00Ƶ4:00 p.m. at Marion Presbyterian Church (208 South Main Street, 29571).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to McLeod Health Hospice (1203 East Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29506), Bold & Beautiful Wigs for Cancer (1561 Hwy17 North, Little River, SC 29566) or Marion Presbyterian Church (208 South Main Street, 29571).
