It is with deep sorrow that Mr. Brevard Tyford Beasley, Jr. announces the death of his beloved wife, Mrs. Kathy Lowery Beasley, 61.

Mrs. Beasley entered into rest on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family.

A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 3 o’clock on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Kelleytown Baptist Church, with The Rev. Tim Skipper officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.

In honor of Kathy红桃视频檚 deep love for animals, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Darlington County Humane Society, a cause that was especially close to her heart: DCHS, 580 E. Washington Street, Hartsville, SC 29550.

Born on June 8, 1963, in Lancaster, SC, Kathy Lowery Beasley was a cherished daughter, wife, sister, godmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.

Kathy pursued her education with passion, earning a bachelor’s degree from 红桃视频 and a master’s degree from Troy State University. She carried that same devotion into her career, retiring from Sonoco after 29 years of service. Her work ethic and integrity were admired by colleagues, but her greatest legacy was the love and joy she brought into the lives of those around her.

Kathy was adored by her family and friends, who found in her a source of support, laughter, and kindness. She leaves behind her loving husband, Tyford Beasley, who she loved with all her heart; her devoted parents, Shannon and Jean Lowery; her sister and brother-in-law, Karol and Jim Dixon; her brother, Wade Lowery; Jean Beasley, her mother-in-law, and Bill Morrison; her brother-in-law, Rodney Beasley; her uncle and aunt, Leroy and Peggy Lowery; her cousins, Sue Pigg and Debra and Mark Hammond; and her beloved 13-year-old dachshund, Charlie, who held a special place in her heart. Kathy was also a proud godmother to Chelsea Miller and her husband Andrew, as well as Drew Gantt, his wife Kelly, and their son, Barrett; and a best friend to Laurie Gantt with whom she shared lots of laughter, adventure, and unconditional love.

To know Kathy was to love her, and all who had that privilege are forever changed by her presence. Her love was boundless, her laugh infectious, and her kindness unmatched. She was stubborn, protective of others, strong, and never allowed circumstances outside of her control to define her.

To the family and great friends who have been there for Kathy and Tyford throughout the years, thank you. Kathy and Tyford love you all, and if you are reading this, know that you are one of those friends.

Sympathy to Mary in the death of her mother, Louise Covington on Novmeber 1, 2017.

A Time to be Born

Mrs. Louise Covington was born in Marlboro County, the daughter of the late Deacon Milton and Irene Williams Moore.

This legacy produced sixteen (16) children of whom all preceded Mrs. Louise in death. They were Willie (Hattie), Jeff (Annie), Harry (Viola), Alex (Mable), Adolphus 红桃视频淪onny Boy红桃视频 (Flora), Nathaniel (Mandy), Maggie Bell Moore, Mildred (Leon) Arnold, Margie Ree (Felton) Washington, Margie Lee (Sam) Hooks, Irene (Fred) Williams, Mary (JD) Legette, and Channie (Leon) Quick.

A Time to Live

Mrs. Louise was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County. She married her childhood friend Thomas Covington in 1938, in Marlboro County. From this union six (6) children were born: the late Thomas Covington Jr., Helen Marshall of NYC, the late Annette (longtime friend Ernest) Covington of NYC, Dr. Vera (the late Charles Henry) Davis of Hartsville SC, the late Flora Mae (Bishop Joe L.) Robinson of Hartsville SC, and Mary 红桃视频淟ib红桃视频 Davis of Hartsville SC, and raised one other, Delores 红桃视频淟il Lisa红桃视频 Ross of VA. One other sister Elouise Ross of NYC. They also had 16 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Louise Covington was a loving mother and grandmother, a caring, courageous, and strong individual. She raised her children to be the same, to look out for each other and to help others in need.

In 1947 they moved to Lydia, SC where Mrs. Louise joined the Mt. Tema Baptist Church under the guidance of first Reverend Young and then after his death the Right Reverend Reed. She was a member of the Missionary and Usher boards.

Mrs. Louise became an employee of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mims of Lydia, SC from 1952 until she retired in 1969 and moved to New York City. She received the Holy Ghost in her latter years at the age of 72. She then joined Nazareth Apostolic Church in Jesus Christ Inc where she was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ by the Pastor Dr. Vera M. Davis.

Blessed with an abundance of love Mrs. Louise opened her home to many families where she provided love and security for as long as they needed a place to call home. Mrs. Louise was known as a person with a dry wit, fun loving, and always wanting those around her to have a good time. She loved to feed people and no one ever left her home feeling hungry.

A Time to Die

Mrs. Louise Covington became deathly ill in November 1999 at which time the doctors gave her six months to live. But only God knows when it is our time to die. To God be the Glory – Mrs. Louise lived an additional 17 years longer than the Doctor红桃视频檚 prediction. She had many loving caregivers over the years, including Mary, Lena, Jackie, Maribel Mena, Ms. Dixon, and a special caregiver Millicent Pierce. Millicent adopted and cared for Mrs. Louise as her own mother and promised to care for her until either she or Mrs. Louise passed away. The Lord called Mrs. Louise home on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. She passed away at the home of her eldest daughter, Helen Marshall, with Millicent in attendance.

Mrs. Louise lived a long and fruitful life caring deeply for her children, friends, and family. In the end when she could no longer take care of herself her children Flora, Vera, and Lib stepped in the gap and cared for her just as she cared for them. Her daughter Helen Marshall is to be recognized and especially commended. When there was a need for Mrs. Louise to go into a nursing home, Helen took Mrs. Louise in her home instead and dedicated her life to caring for Mrs. Louise until her death.

March 29, 1964 – February 19, 2017

MARION, SC (WMBF) – Marion police are investigating a homicide after a woman was found deceased in her home on Herb Levy Road Sunday, according to City of Marion Police Chief Dewayne Tennie.

Mary Magdaline Reddick was found by a friend that went to her home, according to a police report.

The friend said that he knocked on the door and didn’t get an answer. He then walked in through the back door to enter the house. He said that as he walked through the living room, he noticed Reddick sitting in a chair and called out to her. Reddick didn’t answer him and that’s when he touched her face, which was cold. He said at that point, he knew she was dead.

The friend called EMS. Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson arrived on the scene and pronounced Reddick dead.

Her body was also found with several gunshot wounds, he added.

Richardson said her autopsy has been completed and the cause of death was from gunshot wounds to the chest. He added her death is considered a homicide. Marion police have a person of interest.

As the investigation surrounding her death continues, Reddick’s family members are questioning who would want to hurt a woman who lived alone with her dogs.

“She didn’t bother nobody,” said Ella Mae Reddick, Reddick’s mother.

Her family describes her as caring and outgoing.

“She had a good heart. She loved everybody,” said Brenda Moody, Reddick’s sister. “She always had a place for them to stay when she came through. She always would feed them.”

Reddick’s sister and mother last saw her Friday.

“She was happy,” Moody said. “I did tell her I love her.”

Two days later when Reddick’s mother went to pick her up for church, she didn’t answer the door.

“I could hear the dogs barking and scratching the door, but I never got in,” Reddick said. “I thought she had just took a walk.”

Reddick later returned to the house later after getting a concerning call from her son.

“I was so nervous, I couldn’t even remember driving the car there,” she said.

When Reddick arrived, police were already at her daughter’s house.

“They said, ‘You can’t go in there now,'” she said. “I said, ‘Yes, I can go in there.’ He said, ‘You can’t go in there,’ because he said Mary’s dead. I said, ‘No she ain’t. My child ain’t dead.’ I said, ‘That’s my baby.'”

She eventually got to go inside and tried talking to her daughter.

“I sat down in the chair beside her. I was just crying,” Reddick said. “She didn’t talk back. That done hurt me so bad.”

The pain continues as Reddick’s family waits to find out more about exactly what happened to her.

“If somebody hurt her, I hope they find them because they should not hurt her,” Ella Mae Reddick said. 聽“If somebody hurt her, it had to be somebody that knew her and they need to be put away because that was the wrong thing.”

“I just can’t imagine the things that happened to her, why,” Moody said. “But I won’t question God because God always knows what’s best”

Reddick’s funeral is set for 1 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Marion.

“I’m going to miss her so much because she was good. No matter what I’d ask her to do, she’d do and I loved her so much,” Ella Mae Reddick said.
