]]> A memorial service to honor the life of Kimberly Elizabeth Brown-McRae, 34, will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, in the Chapel of Brown Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The Rev. Lin Kirkman will officiate and the family will receive friends following the service.

Kimberly entered rest on Monday, April 4, 2022, after a brief illness. Born in Darlington, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lyle Brown and Marie Patterson Brown. She was a graduate of Hartsville High School and received her bachelor红桃视频檚 degree from Coker College. She also earned her master红桃视频檚 degree from Wingate University.
She was employed with McLeod Regional Medical Center. Kimberly had a deep love for animals and had previously worked with the Darlington County Humane Society for 6 years. She enjoyed going to the mountains and the beach. In her younger years, she was involved in many different sports. Her favorite music artists were George Strait and Tom Petty. Her son, Patton was her heartstring, and she was a wonderful mother to him.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ben McRae; son, Patton Lee McRae; mother, Marie Brown; sister, Kristin Brown; grandmother, Brooksie Daniels-Bowen; aunts, Ann Crowley, Susan Brown; sister-in-law, Shannon McRae; nephew, Boogie McRae; Ben红桃视频檚 grandmother, Sarah McRae; special friends, Hillary White, Angie & Michael Tiller, Phyliss Marsh, Holly Frose, Tracy Johnson, Josey Kelly, Bryant Lawhon and many others who loved her dearly.

]]> SCRANTON -DeEtte “Dee” Lowder Young, 65, wife of Phillip Young, died Saturday, August 22, 2020, at her residence. Mrs. Young was born on August 10, 1955 in Florence, daughter of Angilene Daniels Lynch and the late Curtis Dermont Lowder. She was a graduate of Lake City High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Coker College. Mrs. Young later received her Master’s Degree from Liberty University and was a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. She was a Shelter Counselor Advocate for Pee Dee Coalition. Mrs. Young was a member of Matthews Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served as a member of the Advisory Council Board, was a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Women’s Ministry and was active in missions. She was a devoted Christian and loved to read. Surviving in addition to her mother, Angilene D. Lynch of Scranton, are her husband, Phillip Young of Scranton; daughters, Amy Miles (Jason) Webb of Greenville and Erin Miles (Rocky) Strickland of Lake City; grandchildren, Allie Strickland and Luke Strickland; sister, Patti Shady of Scranton; brother-in-law, Franklin Young of Lake City; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at Matthews Tabernacle with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 PM, Monday, August 24, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton and other times at the home of Erin and Rocky Strickland, 1636 Colin Road, Lake City, SC 29560. ]]> Crystal 红桃视频淐hristie红桃视频 Dawn Happ, age 58, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21st in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, and other times at the home, 1137 Bonnoitt St. Darlington.

Born October 4, 1960 in Newfoundland, Canada; Christie is the daughter of the late Rev. Charles Hagood Drew and Bobbie Jean Weatherford Drew Langston. She taught computer software classes in Hibbing, MN, and worked at Gardner Law Firm. Christie graduated from Coker College in 2011 with a bachelor红桃视频檚 degree in social work while working as a manager at the college. Among her many talents, she enjoyed spending time in her 红桃视频渟he shed红桃视频 painting and making crafts.

Surviving are her husband, Mark Happ; her two children, Hayden Happ and Hunter Happ; sister, Melanie (Wayne) Hale; and niece, Candace (P.J.) Puccio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Timmy Drew.

Memorials may be made in her honor to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org, for their support for Christie during her illness.

Jeff passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019. He was born in Hartsville the son of John Wiley Rhodes and the late Judy Nelms Rhodes. He worked at Sonoco Products company for 20 years as a Safety Coordinator. He attended North Hartsville Baptist Church, he enjoyed spending time with his family and always would look forward to their beach vacations. Jeff was a former body builder, in 1996 he won 1st place in the SC Junior Lightweight Bodybuilding Championship and in 1997 he won 1st place in the SC Junior Middleweight Bodybuilding Championship.

Left to cherish his memory are his dad of Hartsville; his wife, Jennifer Smith Rhodes, Hartsville; sons, Noah Rhodes, Hartsville, Chapin Rhodes, Hartsville; brothers, John Rhodes, Lancaster, Chad (Karen) Rhodes, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; aunt, Jane (Richard) Cheshire, Hartsville; uncle, J.C. (Ann) Rhodes, Hartsville.

He was preceded in death by his mom Judy Nelms Rhodes.

Memorials may be made to North Hartsville Baptist Church, 1117 Patrick Highway, Hartsville, SC 29550.
