She was born in Cincinnati, OH on August 28, 1984 to Edwin E. and Susan Greene Baynes, the youngest of three children.

Throughout her life, Megan has always been an active participant in the things that mattered most to her, her church and her family. During high school she was a cheerleader and was active in the Young Life Program at the Nazerene Church. She excelled in academics, graduating high school with over 18 college credits.

She completed most of her college courses at Ball State University 红桃视频淐hirp Chirp红桃视频�, ultimately graduating from Coker College, where she also worked several years as the Advancement and Events Planning coordinator.

Upon moving to Newberry, Megan immediately became active in the community and supporting her family in their endeavors. She was an active member in First Baptist Church of Newberry and was a part of the Women红桃视频檚 Ministry Group. Megan served at President of the Parent Teachers Association at Gallman Elementary School, was active in the MOPS Group in Chapin, and a was volunteer with the Girls Scouts. She was Team Mom for the Newberry College Wrestling Team 红桃视频� baking cookies for the team, welcoming them into her home to share holiday meals, supporting them during competitions, and just making sure the players, the coaches, and all participants felt nurtured and cared for during their time at Newberry College.

Megan was loving and caring and found enjoyment in decorating for every season 红桃视频� traits she has instilled in her daughter. She had a sense of humor about her and found joy in flying the Ohio State flag, despite Cy红桃视频檚 protests. Megan was a 红桃视频榗raft engineer红桃视频� always finding new projects to try at home. She was an avid sports fan 红桃视频� it did not matter the sport, she loved them all- and she loved traveling, experiencing new things, and charcuterie. Above all else, Megan loved her family, and to know her was to know a woman of unwavering faith; a devoted and dedicated mother, sister, daughter, and wife.

Megan is survived by her husband, Cy Wainwright and their children, Amelia Greene and Ryland Philip Wainwright; her parents, Edwin and Susan Baynes of Cincinnati, OH; brothers, Andrew (Amanda) Baynes of Knoxville, TN and Dustin (Linda) Baynes, of Cincinnati, OH; niece, Amira Baynes, and nephews, Charlie Baynes and Samuel Baynes. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws, Phil and Connie Wainwright.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Martha and Henry Davenport and Ralph and Geneva Baynes.
Funeral services to honor Megan红桃视频檚 life will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Newberry led by Rev. Dr. Albert Allen.

The family invites friends to visit with them on Monday, September 6 from 4 to 6 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home Newberry.

A celebration of life will also be held in Cincinnati, OH at a future date.

Kondla is entering his third season as an assistant coach at Newberry College, where the Wolves won the South Atlantic Conference regular season championship during his first season on staff in 2019.

“I’m very happy to be the next head coach of the Lexington County Blowfish,” said Kondla. “Part of this opportunity definitely goes back to my days at Coker. Coach Schmotzer stressed the importance of being detailed in everything you do and to never cut corners on or off the field. Coach not only taught the game of baseball, but he also taught the game of life and he made sure that he prepared me for the real world after baseball. You have to wake up every day and realize that nothing in life is handed to you, that you must go out and earn it. I’ll forever be greatful for Coach Schmotzer and for Coker for helping me toward this opportunity.”

Kondla appeared in 141 games in his Coker career, totaling 103 runs, 168 hits, 29 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 119 runs batted in and 59 stolen bases. He owned a career .346 batting average, a .416 on-base percentage and a .438 slugging percentage. He helped Coker to a berth in the 2013 NCAA Division II World Series, being named to the All-Conference first team, Conference Carolinas All-Tournament team, NCAA Southeast Regional All-Tournament team, and the NCBWA All-Region team.聽 He was also named Conference Carolinas Player of the week three times during the regular season.聽As a junior, he was also a Josh Willingham Award finalist, which is given to the Most Valuable Player in Division II baseball. Kondla’s name is scattered across the Coker baseball record books, both in the career and single-season categories. His 200 career hits rank fourth all-time in program history, while he is also fourth all-time in career doubles (33). His 119 career RBI are the most in program history, while he is second all-time in single-season batting average (.418, 2013). He is also second all-time in hits in a single season (76, 2013), tied for fifth in doubles in a single season (16, 2013), seventh in runs batted in in a single season (50, 2013) and sixth in single-season stolen bases (27, 2014).

“Fico is a driven man, and one driven to be a college baseball coach,” said former head coach Dave Schmotzer. “This job is another step on his way. He won’t stop until he gets there, he still has the same drive he had as a player, and I’m proud of him.”

Kondla is a 2014 graduate of Coker with a bachelor’s degree in sport management, while earning his master’s degree in college athletic administration from Coker in 2016.
