Funeral service will be Friday, January 24,2020 1:00 p.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Dr. Cecil L. Bromell officiating. The family is receiving friends at 4403 Hoffmeyer Rd Darlington, SC 29532 Public viewing will be 1-8 Thursday January 23,2020 at Kistler- Hardee Funeral Home Ms. Delvin Lynette Alston, daughter of Marie Sansbury Alston and the late David Abron Alston, was born August 10, 1978 in Florence, SC. She departed this earthly life on January 18, 2020. Delvin was a scholar of Darlington County School District and a member of the first class to graduate from Darlington High School in 1996. She touched the lives of many of her peers while she was there. Delvin accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Later she joined and was baptized at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and was an active member until she moved away. Her passion for children and the youth led her to be a very dedicated volunteer instructor for Macedonia Life Skills Center. Delvin was a very vibrant, generous and loving individual. She never met a stranger and was always open to helping in any capacity. She embraced life with her beautiful smile, a positive outlook, joy, happiness and appreciation for every day. Delvin loved to travel and live life without limitations. Delvin went on to further her education by earning an Associates Degree in Human Services from Florence-Darlington Technical College. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology from Coker College (now 红桃视频). She also obtained a Master of Science Degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. She was employed by Richland County CASA as a Case Coordinator and as a Licensed Counselor for the Youth Advocacy Program. Delvin was blessed to experience a life that many people only dream of having. Often times she would say, “Someday everything will make sense so for now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.” Delvin was preceded in death by her father: David Abron Alston, her nephew: Dakari Stewart, and her maternal grandmother: Dora White Sansbury Black. It is with heavy hearts that the family and friends of Jeremy Wayne Isom, 41, announce his death.红桃视频ê焯沂悠胆Born in Honolulu, HI, Jeremy lived in many locations during his childhood due to his father being in the US Army. He also spent his early years with his mother in Alabama. In 1991, he moved to St. Louis, MO, to be part of his father红桃视频檚 family. In 1995, the family moved to Hartsville, where Jeremy attended Hartsville Junior High, Mayo Magnet School, and graduated from Hartsville High School in 2001.

That following fall, Jeremy attended Mercer University in Macon, GA, where he joined the Kappa Alpha fraternity. He later moved back to Hartsville where he finished his degree in business from 红桃视频.

A natural athlete, Jeremy, from a very young age, loved and excelled in sports. He swam in various swim teams, both summer and year-round, as a youngster and loved to dive competitively. He played tennis and was introduced to baseball, his favorite sport. Starting at the age of 7, he was on a number of Little League baseball teams, and when moving to Hartsville joined the Northern League Dixie Youth baseball program, where he was selected to the all-star team. This team of 13/14-year-olds went on to win the Dixie Boys World Series in Atlanta.

He played on the Junior Varsity and Senior Varsity Baseball Teams, as well as played Legion Baseball and was on many travel baseball teams. He received various awards and honors for his baseball achievements but enjoyed his fellow teammates and loved each and every one of them.红桃视频ê焯沂悠胆Jeremy loved snowboarding, snow skiing, water skiing, and any pick-up basketball game that came along. He loved fishing and hiking and the Atlanta Braves, The Dallas Cowboys and the Denver Broncos. Fantasy football was a hobby of his. But his favorite sport in later years was golf. He played extensively at Hartsville Country Club and various courses around the state. He loved team play and valued his friendships on the course and the challenge and physicality of golf.红桃视频ê焯沂悠胆Following college, Jeremy worked in the insurance industry with AAA and later moved to Charleston, where he worked as a bartender and a manager at a number of restaurants. He moved to Anderson and joined Horace Mann in 2023.

Known for his wonderful smile and deep blue eyes, Jeremy always had fun and had many friends. He loved his family deeply and cared deeply for his friends. He had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hartsville.

Jeremy is survived by his mother, Dana Lyons (James) of Boulder, CO; his half-brother, Tyler Lyons (Julie); his father, Robert Clay Isom of Anderson, SC; his stepmother, Mellany Ann Faes of Hartsville, SC; his stepbrother and best friend, William David Jones of St. Louis, MO; his nephew, Liam; He also leaves behind his dear friend Nic Ison and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lugoff, South Carolina – LUGOFF 红桃视频 A service to celebrate the life of Danny Ray Memolo, 75, will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 14, 2024 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Powers Funeral Home.

Mr. Memolo passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Rice Estates in Columbia, S.C. Born in Greenville, N.C., he was the son of the late Francis P. “Frank” Memolo and Beulah Ann Lloyd Parrott. He served in the United States Air Force and was a Russian translator/interpreter. He received his bachelor’s degree from Coker College and his master’s degree from Winthrop University. He taught accounting at Central Carolina Technical College and was an accountant.

Dan enjoyed comic books with Sgt Rock or The Haunted Tank (as a boy), playing with dogs (good or bad), Diet Mt. Dew (nee Pepsi), Parkers Barbecue, collards, yacht rock, talking (in general), watching NASCAR, watching Westerns (especially those with Audie Murphy or John Wayne), trips to the mountains of NC or Myrtle Beach, SC, driving around to see America, learning about history, planting wildflowers in the yard, and sitting on the front porch enjoying nature; however, his greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. He was as true and steadfast a friend as anyone ever had, was always happy to see you and met you with good humor and cheer, and was the type of fellow who left you feeling better than you did when he found you.

Surviving are his wife, Amy F. Memolo; children, Renita Holt (Shane), Sean Memolo (Jennifer); grandchildren, Olivia Holt, Grant Holt, Morrissey Memolo, Atticus Memolo; and siblings, Peter Memolo, Paul Memolo, Bob Memolo, Andrew Memolo, and Kevin Parrott. He was predeceased by a step-father, Waverly Parrott and a step-mother, Jean Memolo; and granddaughter, Abbie Lin Holt.

On July 2, 2023 Derrick Lebron Hilton was called home to the arms of our Heavenly Father.

Derrick Hilton was a Socastee High School graduate, Class of 98 and a graduate of Coker College, he then became a Guidance Counselor and the Head Basketball Coach of Socastee High School in 2017. He achieved the goal of leading the team to playoff status. He later received his Masters Degree online at Southwest University all while being fully committed to his career and his family. As a dedicated Guidance Counselor and coach, he was a mentor to countless students and a strong representative in the Socastee Community.

He is survived by his Wife Malia Bell Hilton, 2 Sons- Derrick Lebron Hilton Jr, Leagan James Hilton, and 1 Daughter – Delanie Quinn Hilton. Mother and Step Father Debra and Carl Brooks. Father and Step Mother Derrick and Tracy Hilton. 2 Sisters – Tawauna Moore and Nicole Sutlick. 2 Brothers- Reggie Brooks and Tremayne Brooks

He also leaves a large family of Aunts and Uncles. Numerous Cousins, dear and close Friends and a beloved community. He is remembered for his contagious smile and a heart of gold.

Private family services were held on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

Public services for Derrick will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 10, 2023 at the Socastee High School main gym. Doors will open at noon.

It is with deep sorrow that John “Bootsie” Griggs and the Howard family announce the death of Mrs. Doris Howard Griggs, 80.

Mrs. Griggs entered into rest on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family.

A Homegoing celebration of her life will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in The Chapel of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Drs. Nina and Moody Gunter, The Rev. Tom McRea, and The Rev. Hazel Mixon will officiate with burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home, and other times at the home, 2229 Pine Acres Road, Hartsville, SC.

Memorials may be made in her honor to The Ministry of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 1042 N. Fifth Street, Hartsville, SC 29550.

Mrs. Griggs was born on December 8, 1942, in Hartsville, SC. She was the oldest daughter of the late Luther G. “Big Luther” Howard and the late Nona Mae Rogers Howard.

Doris graduated from Hartsville High School in 1961 and earned a degree from 红桃视频 in 2000. She worked as a paralegal and retired from Sonoco after 35 years. She was a lady of many talents, who had a beautiful singing voice and a talent for playing the piano, even though she couldn’t read music! She had a very special gift from God.

She was also talented with interior design and was one of the best interior decorators in Hartsville. She was a devoted mother, and sister, and was a faithful friend to many. Doris was the type of lady who would give you her last penny. She enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything else. She was often found playing the piano at jam sessions with Mr. Roy Harris. People in the church would come early to hear them playing and could enjoy the music before worship services started.

She is survived by her loving son, John “Bootsie” (Jenny) Griggs; sisters, Ann Hudson, and Dale Davis; brother, Ron (Vickie) Howard; sister-in-law Joye Howard; grandsons, Teal Davis and Jason Davis; nieces, Sandy Colston, Carla Benton, Jackie Tyner, and Megan Carnell; and a devoted special man in her life, Hubert Griggs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Luther 红桃视频淏ucky红桃视频 Howard; sister-in-law, Carol Howard; brother-in-law, Lorain Davis; and a very special niece, Debra Lynn Davis.

Bootsie and Jenny would like to thank the caregivers who helped care for their mom: Elizabeth Vogan, Kathy Barnwell, Gayle Walters, Nikki Davis, Dale Davis, Ann Hudson, Pat Hewitt, Kay Tumbleston, and the one lady who tirelessly helped clean and was always at the ready, Ann Brand — Thank you all so much for your care of mom.

Pamplico – Cynthia Ann McCray, 55 of Pamplico, SC entered her Heavenly home on November 23, 2022 with her loving family be her side.

Ms. McCray was born September 2, 1967 in Florence County, a daughter of the late Jessie Mae Jones McCray and Marshall McCray, Sr. She is a graduate of Hannah-Pamplico High School, a graduate of Florence – Darlington Technical College with an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice and a graduate of 红桃视频 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She was an educator with Florence School District 2 Special Services Department in Pamplico, SC.

She was a devout Christian, an avid History and Literature scholar, an animal advocate, loved singing and dancing to Karaoke, Classic Rock and American Blues Music. Cynthia was passionate and intense about her interests. She was most expressive when engaging with others in dialogue relative to Current World Events, National Politics and Social Issues. Her hobbies were purchasing antique furniture for restoration, drafting blueprints for special home projects, nurturing the neighborhood pets and enjoying Sunday dinners at the family home. Understanding the critical need for Cancer Research Funding, she was a financial donor to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) along with a financial donor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Her family will continue supporting Cancer Research in her memory.

Ms. McCray is survived by her siblings, Roy Lee McCray and his wife Vangie Baker McCray of Florence, SC; Marshall McCray, Jr. of Pamplico, SC; Sheila Ann McCray Harley and her husband Willie Levern Harley of Florence, SC;

Michelle McCray of Florence, SC and Mona Lisa McCray Andrews and her husband Billy Cuttino Andrews, III of Pamplico, SC; nephews, Brett Austin

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel, 400 South Dargan Street, Florence, SC followed by interment in Mill Branch African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery, 1917 North Old River Road, Pamplico, SC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the hour of service and other times at 1754 South Pamplico Highway, Pamplico, SC.
