Athletics Hall of Fame – October 7, 2006
Lisa Johnson Ard graduated Cum Laude from ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ in 1988, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education, in addition to experiencing a stellar career with the Cobra womenºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™s Basketball Team. When Ard joined the Coker squad in 1985 she was named the teamºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™s Most Improved Player.
During her next three years, she was named to the NAIA all American Team (ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™86, ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™87, ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™88). She was named the C. G. Timberlake Athlete of the Year in her senior year. While at Coker, she participated in many extracurricular activities, including the Commissioners, the Student Admissions Council, intramurals, and working in the Financial Aid office.
Since graduation, she has experienced a very successful teaching and coaching career. She was named Sumter School District Two Teach of the Year in 1996. In addition, Ard was named to the Mid-8 Coach of the Year 1992, ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™93, ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™94. She has led Crestwood High SchoolºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™s womenºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™s baseball team to the play offs every year since 1998. She was named GirlsºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™s Coach of the Year in 2004 and Region 6AAA Coach of the year in 2005. Ard is currently a teacher at Mayewood Middle School and Head WomenºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™s Basketball Coach at Crestwood High School.
