The Veterans Administration recognizes ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ as an eligible and Military Friendly institution to provide education to qualified veterans. If you are a veteran, active duty Army Reserve, a member of the National Guard, or the dependent or spouse of a veteran, you may be eligible for financial benefits to help fund your Coker education.

add remove What happens if IºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™m called to duty?
If a student is called to duty, he/she should request an official leave of absence.Ìý Students should submit a leave of absenceÌý, along with any written military orders.Ìý When an official leave of absence is granted, it will not be necessary for the student to go through the process of readmission to the University if the student returns in the semester or term designated on the request and if the student informs the Registrar’s Office of his or her intention to return two weeks prior to the enrollment period.

add remove What should I do if I decide to drop/add a course or withdraw from the institution?
We are required to notify the VA of any changes to a studentºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™s schedule or status within thirty days of the change taking place. To make our office aware of a change to your schedule, or your intention to withdraw or take a leave of absence, please immediately emailÌýva_benefits@coker.edu.

add remove When will my classes be certified?
Your courses will be certified after professors and the RegistrarºìÌÒÊÓÆµ™s office have verified rosters.Ìý See the Important Dates section located at /tuition-aid/student-responsibilities/Ìýfor estimated certification dates. The School Certifying Official (SCO) will notify students when their enrollment has been certified.

If you are receiving chapter 30 or chapter 1606 benefits, you are required to certify your enrollment through theÌýÌý If you have trouble verifying your enrollment, you may call 877-VA-ECERT.

The only chapter that will pay directly to Coker is the Post 9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33).Ìý All other chapters will pay the veteran student directly (or put it in Direct Deposit, if you are eligible).
